PLAY ME A LOVE SONG PART 9

 The week flew by so fast for both Jeongguk and Taehyung.

They had this certain thrill, a certain excitement in their hearts as they looked forward to Friday. Friday. For Taehyung, Friday is such a big deal because he will be allowing himself to go out again.

Friday. For Jeongguk, Friday is such a big deal because finally, he will see who the man behind DJ V really is. The excitement in Jeongguk's heart was unequal because with DJ V, he definitely felt alive again.

Jeongguk was pacing in his office when Namjoon knocked at his door. "Hey Jeonggukah," Namjoon said. "Hey, hyung! What's up?" Jeongguk asked. "Are you excited to attend the live event tonight?" Namjoon asked as he took the phone from his pocket.

"Quite nervous, honestly," Jeongguk said. "Oh, did you see? I tweeted about the event?" Namjoon said. "Tweeted? Is that posting on Twitter?" Jeongguk asked as he approached the elder. Namjoon shook his head and opened the app and showed Jeongguk the post.

"Oh, so that's what Twitter looks like." Jeongguk mused loudly. Namjoon laughed out loud, "so, are you interested in maybe, you know creating your account?" Jeongguk, heat creeping from his ear, looked at Namjoon and boldly asked, "does DJ V have a Twitter account?"

"Let me see," Namjoon said. "Yes, he does and most probably, since he will be finally revealing who he is tonight, then he'd change his pfp." "Pfp?" "Profile picture." Namjoon said, smiling and very amused with the younger. "Oh." "Want me to help you create one?"

After some tinkering on Jeongguk's phone and after 21 questions, Jeongguk looked at his Twitter profile. "Hyung, what's private?" Jeongguk asked. "Well, only people who follow you can see your tweets," Namjoon responded. "Oh, I see." Jeongguk responded.

"Thanks, hyung!" Jeongguk exclaimed. "You are welcome. By the way, can I ask you the biggest favor ever?" Namjoon looked at Jeongguk after looking at his watch. "Anything, hyung." Jeongguk responded.

"I need to be at MBC in an hour but the show starts at 10. Your Jin hyung's shift ends at 9. He wanted to meet DJ V as well, I was wondering if you could pick him up?" Namjoon pleaded. Jeongguk's face cast a look of worry. He doesn't want to miss DJ V this time.

"Where am I picking him up at?" Jeongguk asked. "He works at Seoul Cancer Hospital in Jung-gu." Namjoon responded. "So, if I leave at 8:30, I will be there at 8:50, 8:55, and be back at 9 30 ish?" Jeongguk computed in his head. "Yeah." Namjoon said as he put out DJ V's book.

"Oh, is this the final draft?" Jeongguk asked. "No, it's not. It's the first print." Namjoon responded. Jeongguk took it from the table and immediately turned to the foreword of the book. He wonders, if DJ V indeed removed what he said he would. And he did.

Wow, he definitely removed his dedication to his ex, his first love, he wants to move on. Hopeful. Somehow, Jeongguk wanted to believe that DJ V wants to give him a chance, because well, they never talked about past relationships, not until last week.

Truth be told, Jeongguk stared at the picture for hours. Trying to make out what DJ V looks like. He must be handsome because even when the picture was quite blurry, his features still stood out. He has smooth skin, a perfect jaw, and kissable lips.

He looked at Namjoon who stood up and patted his back, "Thanks Jeongguk! I owe you one." Jeongguk just gave Namjoon a thumb-up. He just hopes everything will flow seamlessly and be able to finally meet DJ V who he will be with in the next few months.

Jeongguk tapped on the steering wheel as he waited outside the parking lot for 20 minutes now. Twenty fcking minutes. Kim Seokjin, where the hell are you? He looked at his watch. But then Jeongguk remembered, he hasn't texted DJ V yet.

Jeongguk was about to answer him back when Jin finally showed up at 9:20 pm. Patience Jeongguk, you'll see DJ V. Jeongguk smiled at Seokjin. "I am so sorry Gukkie, the nurse was late. I wasn't able to discharge my patient at once." "It's okay, hyung." Jeongguk said.

Fate wasn't definitely on Jeongguk's side because there was a traffic jam just before the ramp entering Gangnam. But Jeongguk just took a deep breath, 'you are just a few blocks away Jeon Jeongguk.' They arrived at MBC by 10:05.

The program started and of course, there was no parking spot. "Jin, hyung, just go up, I will follow." Jeongguk was already on the verge of giving up with tears of frustration starting to build up. "Thanks Jeonggukie." Jin said as he got out of the car.

After five minutes, he finally found a parking spot. He drew a sharp breath, and let everything go well. He rushed to the lobby where the live broadcast was held. He had to push through the crowd and at this rate, he would not be able to go inside the room.

He was fighting his way through the crowd when he finally saw a guy wearing a snow cap and bright yellow cardigan sitting beside Park Hyo-shin. The crowd was so packed that he tried to take a good look at the DJ V's side profile. He is very attractive.

He finally got through the crowd holding out his staff badge. When he got nearer, his heart jumped off of his chest. No shit! DJ V is Kim Taehyung. Kim Taehyung is DJ V. His eyes were about to bulge out from his sockets. Sweat formed on his forehead with clammy palms.

The Kim Taehyung from four years ago was very different from the Kim Taehyung sitting and smiling with Park Hyo-shin holding his chin inside the booth.

The Kim Taehyung in front of him is the most beautiful person he has ever seen in his life. Jeongguk's heart sank with the realization that he was the idiot that he talked about. The Kim Taehyung in front of him had a sliver of love for him 3 months ago.

The Kim Taehyung in front of him just deleted the foreword in his book that was originally dedicated to him. The Kim Taehyung in front of him is still smiling toward Park Hyo-shin who was also beaming at him, touching him as if he wanted to own him. Jeongguk gulped.

What the hell is he going to do now? Namjoon and Jin approached an ashen faced Jeongguk. "Jeonggukie? Why are you so pale?" Namjoon asked. Jeongguk, who was still in shock, looked at Namjoon slowly, "Hyung, DJ V is Kim Taehyung, my ex-boyfriend, Seojoon's former bestfriend."

Jeongguk just watched DJ V the entire program with hundreds of thoughts swimming in his head. He's definitely fcked up now, most especially as Justin and Taehyung have definitely gotten a lot closer. What should he do?

"Are you okay?" Seokjin asked as Namjoon was called inside. Jeongguk's eyes stayed glued to Taehyung who was just constantly engaging with Hyo-shin and the fans. "I am hyung. Just trying to gather my marbles." Jeongguk responded still staring at Taehyung. Enigmatic.

It's amazing how personable he still is but then he just realized that DJ V is serious, shy, tentative, and aloof. Jeongguk just watched him, in awe of him. His voice definitely became deeper now. Its huskiness is very calming but still he doesn't know what to do.

Seokjin chattered beside him, with him just absently nodding and agreeing. He was just hypnotized by his presence. Not only will he work with him, but he will also need to tell him that he is Justin. Taehyung stood up with Hyo-shin, and the show is done.

Namjoon got Jin and Jeongguk and brought them to a conference room. Jeongguk's heart started pounding in his ears and he was right. Park Hyo-shin entered the room with Taehyung and Jeongguk just froze.

"There you are! I was just telling DJ V the best book promotions manager." Hyo-shin said. Taehyung stood still in front of him. He just looked at him smiling. "Jeongguk, please meet DJ V." Namjoon said nervously. Jeongguk held out his hand to him, "Hi DJ V, I'm a big fan."

Hyo-shin then turned to DJ V and said, "Taehyungah, it's time to take some pictures. Namjoon, Jeongguk, please have some refreshments." "Yes, sunbaenim." Taehyung said as they posed for a picture. They tried to re-enact the picture they took last week.

Namjoon brought Jeongguk to the table. He took some food and started sulking, watching Hyo-shin and Taehyung take pictures. Hyo-shin's hands wrapped around Taehyung. It's like in SNU all over again, but this time, he doesn't have the upper advantage.

Taehyung was hyper-aware of the man watching him right now as he continued smiling for pictures. Jeon Jeongguk. Of all the times and places, the circumstances, they really needed to see each other again right now, when he thought he was ready to move on.

Taehyung continued looking at the man in front of him discreetly as he could. The man who he knew eats a lot when he is stressed or nervous or annoyed. Jeongguk is doing that right now as he continued eating and glancing at him. His heart though kept beating furiously.

They are not together anymore but he still has the same effect as he did 8 years ago. Jeongguk looks great. Happiness suits him. He must be very blissfully happy with Seojoon. Since Jeongguk is the promotions manager, maybe, this is a great way for him to finally move on.

They can finally talk and clear the air and somehow get that peace of mind, that healing he needed. The photographer was taking pictures with Hyo-shin when he suddenly remembered Justin. He should tell him he's done. Is he here? Did he watch him?

He started texting Justin when he saw Jeongguk take his phone out and walk away. Maybe Jeongguk needed to talk to Seojoon, it's Friday and Seojoon loved going out on Friday nights. But Justin answered & it made him smile. Justin saw him earlier. Is he still here?

Taehyung was waiting for Justin to respond. Oh maybe, it's time for him to show who he is to the world. So he went to Twitter and changed his profile picture and tweeted as well. Well, it's true. He is so torn and confused right now.

Hyo-shin approached him and whispered to him, "ready?" Jeongguk just entered the room and started walking to him. "Taehyungssi?" He asked hesitantly. "Yes?" Taehyung turned to him, "you know you can call me by name right? Jeonggukie?" He smiled genuinely.

If he needs to move on, then he needs to be honest and forgiving. But the truth to the matter is, Taehyung doesn't even know if what he is doing is right. "Yeah, that's right, I just thought..." Jeongguk smiled back. "It's already been years, right?" Taehyung smiled at him.

Namjoon and Jin then approached them, "oh, DJ V, I would like you to meet your very first caller. Kim Seokjin." Namjoon said. "Oh my gosh, it's such a great pleasure to meet you!" Taehyung said as he walked and pulled Jin for a hug. "Aaaaahhh, I am such a big fan!" Jin said.

Namjoon then turned to Jeongguk and looked at Taehyung, "do you think you two could work with promotions and all?" Jeongguk looked at Taehyung. He held his breath waiting for a reply. Hyo-shin then walked to them, intrigued of what's going on. "Why would they not be okay?"

Taehyung turned to Hyo-shin and to Namjoon & then finally to Jeongguk, "I don't see a problem, I mean, it's been years and besides, Jeongguk must be very happy with Seojoon." Jin suddenly interrupted and looked at Jeongguk. "Don't tell me you got back with that cheater Seojoon?"

Jeongguk's eyes widened as Namjoon looked away, actually, he directed his eyes toward the ceiling with Jin's eyes looking directly unto Taehyung. Yes. Seokjin has been observing Jeongguk when they arrived in the room and the elder was already aware of Jeongguk's ex before+

Seojoon. His ex named Kim Taehyung. Seokjin saw how uncomfortable Jeongguk was, constantly stealing glances at the famous DJ who was posing with another celebrity. Jeongguk was insanely uncomfortable.

He knew how Jeongguk must be feeling because Namjoon confessed the same kind of emotions one drunken Saturday night. Namjoon declared the pain in his heart as he watched Jin every time he was with Hoseok and it was not a pleasant feeling at all.

And was also aware of how distraught Jeongguk was when they went out for drinks after he caught Seojoon kissing another guy. He remembered Jeongguk crying not over Seojoon, yes, never about Seojoon. He was always lamenting over someone before Seojoon, someone named Taehyung.

He kept saying on and on about how Taehyung broke his heart into millions of pieces because he left him without saying anything. Seokjin was known for being too frank, and too outspoken sometimes, but only to people, he is close with.

Seokjin remembered clearly one time before Jeongguk fell unconscious because of a drunken stupor. He actually asked the younger, nay, demanded why he was being like that.

Jeongguk admitted that he was being a brat and was expecting Taehyung to run after him and became very salty because he did not. So, he decided to have a good time with Seojoon and their other university friends and the rest was history.

Taehyung was in deep thought upon learning about Seojoon cheating on Jeongguk. He scrunched his eyebrows, then who was the guy Seojoon was saying I love you too on social media before he blocked him?

Uncomfortable silence surrounded them as Jin looked into Taehyung's confused look. He must get answers, Taehyung thought but then again, should he? Because he was finally going to give other people a chance only to find himself back to square one.

Namjoon took a deep breath, "Who's hungry?" He looked at everyone. Everyone turned their attention to Namjoon only to confuse Hyo-shin even more. He doesn't even know what's happening between Jeongguk or Taehyung and he doesn't really give a damn.

Hyo-shin took a bold move as he pulled Taehyung in, looking at him smiling, then looked at the others, "Taehyung and I already made plans." Taehyung looked back at Hyo-shin who was just smiling at him with adoration.

Taehyung immediately blushed, smiling at Hyo-shin who was just showering with so much attention. He, then, noticed Jeongguk's feet shuffling uncomfortably. Aaaahhh. He screamed internally, he was being pulled into so many directions right now.

Sure, he really wanted to move on. Sure, he wanted to give Hyo-shin a better chance, to get to know him more somehow. But evidently, he wanted to reach out and talk to Jeongguk as well, because he wanted to know the truth.

'What the hell are you thinking about Tae?' He thought, 'it's not your fault that Seojoon cheated on Jeongguk.' Overall, it was Jeongguk's choice anyway, his choice not to give Taehyung a chance to explain.

Taehyung just smiled at Hyo-shin & leaned back in, "Yes, I am sorry guys, I promised Hyo-shin sunbae that I will go out with him." Jeongguk's face fell. Taehyung was choosing Hyo-shin instead of him & he can't blame him because Jeongguk knows Taehyung thinks he abandoned him.

Jeongguk didn't give the chance to explain why he needed a break and now that he knows, Jeongguk should be the one who should do everything to win him back. He needs to find a way to let DJ V know that he is Justin.

Jeongguk knows that he has a lot of work cut out for him so even in annoyance he should accept this. He had to win him back. He wants to win him back. He needs to win him back. And if Taehyung decides not to, at least apologize and ask for his forgiveness.

Nevertheless, Jeongguk wants both DJ V and Kim Taehyung back in his life. Seokjin was just looking at Jeongguk. He knows how he must be so pained right now.

He might have been in a relationship with Seojoon but there were a lot of conversations about Kim Taehyung as well. Seokjin turned his attention toward Taehyung, who inspite of his smile, is not really ecstatic of his outing with Hyo-shin.

Seokjin knows this because being a doctor and bringing both good news and bad news to patients, he knows when one is extremely happy. The smile on Taehyung's lips did not reaxch his eyes, so Jin must do something about it, or try to.

"How about tomorrow?" Seokjin suddenly exclaimed. "Are you doing something tomorrow DJ V? I mean, I hope you don't find me too forward but I really want to treat you to thank you," Jin took Namjoon's hand into his, "you have been instrumental to our happiness."

Jeongguk snapped his head up, looking eagerly at Seokjin, hoping he'd be invited too. Taehyung then smiled, genuinely, at Seokjin with his eyes smiling too. Good, Seokjin thought.

"Of course, Seokjinssi, it will be my pleasure." Taehyung responded gladly. "Yay! And call me hyung." Seokjin looked at Jeongguk before speaking again, "And Jeonggukie is coming with us if you don't mind, he has been a very good friend."

Taehyung finally looked Jeongguk in the eyes who at the same time met his eyes. Taehyung missed him and it's refreshing to see him finally again, it's been a long time. Jeonggguk just nodded at him, as if encouraging him to say yes.

Jeongguk wanted him to come, maybe 4 years were good enough to make them both mature a little. Taehyung nodded saying, "okay. We can go out, maybe, brunch?" "And maybe after too?" Jeongguk asked hopefully. Taehyung looked at him, surprised with his sudden boldness.

"Let's do brunch first, because, I may have some plans to meet up with another friend," Taehyung responded wistfully. Jeongguk gulped nervously, was he referring to Justin?

Either way, Taehyung will be meeting with Jeongguk, what explanation should he give him? Jeongguk's mind was now in an absolute state of confusion, how will he reveal himself to DJ V?

How would he tell him that they have been talking for months? How would he tell him that he was always on his mind? How would he tell him that his heart beats a little faster especially when they start texting? Or when they were sending each other pictures?

Tomorrow or maybe, in the next couple of months, he'll figure out what to do, or what to say, because right now, he doesn't want to miss this chance, to show Taehyung he has his entire attention.

Hyo-shin grabbed his hands once again, "As much as we would love to stay and chat, Taehyung and I have a lot of catching up to do." Namjoon just nodded and smiled. The manager was keenly aware of Jeongguk's pained smile. Ah, what a small world. It's such a small world.

How could he have missed that Kim Taenyung is DJ V when all along he has the name written in the contract? Hyo-shin and Taehyung said their goodbyes, leaving the three of them with Jeongguk's eyes lingering on them both.

The moment they completely left, Jeongguk turned to the two with anxious eyes and sweaty palms. He turned to both of them and said, "You need to help me both, please. I think I am screwed. I don't know what to do."

Hyo-shin and Taehyung decided to go to Hyo-shin's flat instead. Taehyung was really trying his best to reel back his thoughts to his former TA but right now, all he is thinking about is Jeongguk and Justin. Most especially with the invitation that was extended to him.

They stepped into Hyo-shin's place. It was huge and pleasant. Taehyung was tentative because his mind was somewhere else. "Make yourself feel comfortable," Hyo-shin said as he excused himself. Taehyung took his phone and texted Justin who instantaneously responded.

It took a while for Justin to respond because Taehyung already counted the books on Hyo-shin's shelf and when he looked back at his phone, there was still no response from him. So, Taehyung decided to take the initiative, to ask if he would get invited tomorrow.

Hyo-shin came back. He changed his clothes. "Tae, do you want to join me in the kitchen?" He asked. Taehyung smiled & followed the elder. Hyo-shin gestured for him to join him at the island counter where he placed the drinks. "It's been a while since I drank," Tae admitted.

"Why is that?" Hyo-shin asked pouring him a drink. "I don't go out that often," Taehyung stated honestly. "So, tell me Taehyung, I hope you don't mind me asking something personal," Hyo-shin asked. "Yes, sunbaenim, what's your question?" Taehyung asked as his phone buzzed.

"I am intrigued," he asked, sitting closer to Taehyung. Taehyung both felt intrigued and nervous, about what was his question going to be. "Who is Jeongguk to you?" Hyo-shin looked at him intensely. Taehyung held his breath, "Sunbaenim,"

Hyo-shin gazed at him, "tell me, I won't judge." Taehyung's phone buzzed again, reminding him of maybe Justin responding to his text. "He was my ex," Taehyung said after taking downing his drink. He needed some liquid courage for sure.

"And now?" Hyo-shin asked. "Hoping to be a friend," Taehyung said candidly. "I really want to move on." "Really?" Hyo-shin gazed into his eyes. "Yes." He looked back at him. Hyo-shin touched his cheek, "that's nice. What are you thinking to do?"

"We are going to work together, sunbae. I don't want bad blood. I want to sit down and talk to him and just close that chapter in my life." Taehyung said as Hyo-shin stood up to get something from the refrigerator. Taehyung took a quick peek from his phone.

He sighed. Why is Justin avoiding him? He was looking forward to seeing him tomorrow. So Taehyung, buzzed a little, sent him a reply.

Hyo-shin snuck up behind him and placed a cheese and grapes platter. "Oh, Taehyungah, let's take a selfie for Twitter," Hyo-shin suggested. Taehyung nodded. He wanted to forget about Justin who was unwilling to meet with him.

They took a selfie and Taehyung posted it on Twitter before looking at Justin's response. Should he be forward with Hyo-shin? Is the elder even interested in him? He doesn't feel it but his actions says otherwise, like the picture he took.

Jeongguk sat on his couch, all confused, shocked, and suprised. He was not expecting to see Taehyung earlier. He was not expecting DJ V to be Kim Taehyung, the ultimate love of his life. He knows this now.

He realized that the reason why he was drawn to DJ V was because of his quiet sincerity. Taehyung is quiet but he is very sincere, he is the type of person who you can lean on and will never let you fall. He is absolutely the same as DJ V.

He was texting Taehyung earlier and until he finds the right headspace, he would not reveal himself to be Justin just yet. He was finding the right words to respond when his Twitter notification popped up, DJ V posted.

He responded with something, hopefully, Taehyung would not see it yet, right? Namjoon said earlier that once you are private, it would not be seen until the person follows you back.

Then he saw Taehyung post another notification. He felt pained. Jeongguk was not prepared to see Taehyung that close and intimate with another. How could he be so blind? How could he be so insensitive? Seeing Taehyung now only proves that he never not stopped loving him.

It doesn't matter if he is DJ V or Kim Taehyung, all Jeongguk knows right now is that he loves him. He sprawled on his couch and took a deep breath, it's time to text Taehyung.

Jeongguk took a deep breath, he doesn't know if Taehyung will figure him out but at least tomorrow he could explain when he meets him for breakfast.

Hyo-shin was talking about his latest Singapore trip. He was narrating to Taehyung what the weather was like and the food. Hyo-shin even told Taehyung that he doesn't need to pay anything because KPA will pay for everything.

He saw his phone buzz with a notification. He was antsy. He does not know what picture Justin would send him. Hyo-shin was in the middle of telling his Hong Kong book tour when Taehyung stood up, "Sunbae, I need to go to the restroom."

Taehyung entered the bathroom and opened the app on his phone. His eyes bulged. Sh!t Justin is hot. Taehyung bit lower lip as he sent him a response.

He pulled up his Twitter app. A blush crept up Taehyung's face. His heart started pounding. His brain started getting hazy. His palms started to become sweaty. He had not prepared his heart for something like this.

Hyo-shin knocked, "are you doing okay, Tae?" Taehyung immediately opened the door and stepped outside. "Yeah, sunbae, I think I need to go back to the hotel." Taehyung responded. "I feel weird." "Are you okay?" Hyo-shin looked at him worriedly.

"Just tired, I guess," Taehyung responded, getting jumpy for Justin's reply. "Let me drive you home." Hyo-shin offered. "No. Please, it's near. I might just take a cab." Taehyung said as he walked towards the door and put on his shoes. "Talk to you soon?" Hyo-shin asked.

Taehyung smiled and nodded at him. "Let me walk you to the elevator at least?" Hyo-shin asked. "Of course," Taehyung said. After a few steps, they reached the elevator and Taehyung immediately stepped inside when the door opened.

He felt his phone buzz once again with Justin responding to him. He's asking him if he liked what he saw. Is that even a question? Taehyung leaned his head back against the elevator wall and took a deep breath as he responded.

His mind was in a total blur right now. Those tattoos are hot. This is the first time he's ever salivated on someone like this. He quickly typed something in his Twitter when the elevator doors opened. How could he respond to something like this?

Jeongguk smirked. It was a bold move, yes and Taehyung doesn't even know about his tattoos or the fact that he worked out a lot after their break-up but what is he doing? Isn't he supposed to win him back and not push him to Justin? He'll tell him soon after he wins him back.

If Taehyung got flustered with that, Jeongguk knew what to do next. He is slowly forming this action plan in his head, how he will win Taehyung back into his life. So Jeongguk texted back and said good night.
